p52.2 framed: playing with composition [pattern and contrast no. 3]

At the recent Jean-Paul Gaultier exhibit at the nearby Brooklyn Museum, the young Pattons arrive with sketchbooks in tow, much to the delight of their fellow museum-dwellers. I can’t get them to do much, but I can persuade them to behave themselves at a museum.

Here, Embley is inspired to sketch a gown originally worn on the runway by Carla Bruni. Tres magnifique!

This week’s exploration is devoted to contrast, specifically between light and dark.
