It is an occasionally drizzly Sunday. A little warm. We hop the R-train to 9th Street and head to Bicycle Habitat in Park Slope. His new bicycle is waiting for him. The salesperson adjusts the seat. It is perfect and shiny and ready to go. A test drive confirms this.
Next up, a helmet and a bell. He selects thoughtfully. Then he zooms along with his father through the quiet streets, past brownstones and storefronts, and onto the bike path in Prospect Park.
