And This Our Life: Them Bones

A visit to the American Museum of Natural History is, I am pretty sure, never truly quiet. It is as perpetually bustling a place as you are bound to find in New York City on any given day. Nevertheless, I like to seek out the quiet moments when I am behind the lens, even if those moments are rare. It is a fun challenge and a great exercise to juxtapose the busyness of life in New York City with quiet images of life as a New Yorker.

I am drawn to the framing in this image – the way they are nestled within the massive dinosaur’s leg and tail, as well as the repeated lines and framing of the walkway. And I totally dig their relaxed posture. It’s almost like they own the place.
