One of my key motivations as the primary photographer of my own family is to get the images I most love off of my hard drive and into printed form. I recently (finally) completed designing an album from my son’s seventh birthday from last March and this is one of my favorite images. It’s that mysterious sidelong glance. It kills me softly. I also really love how this image pulses with a quiet beat – the way the reflection of the city street from the gear-filled window behind him is juxtaposed with the admirable poise of seven years of Brooklyn born and bred.
